Wake Up With This All Natural Energizing Elixir

This is one of my FAVORITE drinks. I love making variations of this with different citrus fruits, herbs & even mixing it with my favorite teas. It’s a metabolism booster, full of beauty benefits & VERY refreshing – just in time for the summer! This drink is perfect to have first thing in the morning to get your body going, or for an afternoon pick me up. I think it’s so cool that nature provides us with foods & ingredients that support our bodies and provide us with ample energy. There’s no need for fake chemical-filled bars or drinks over here. This energizing elixir is like an all natural PRE workout!

I love drinking this with a straw as turmeric can temporarily stain the teeth…but it’s worth it- just give them a good brush if you don’t have a straw 😉 I also love adding grapefruit (similar to this detox drink from The Skinny Confidential!! LOVE HER)

If you’ve never tried some of these ingredients before (apple cider vinegar, cayenne, & turmeric) don’t be nervous! The measurements in this recipe might be a little too intense at first but you can always adjust them or add more water to make it to your liking. Experiment with different flavors. Sweeten it up with stevia, or a splash of pineapple- find what works for you!

This drink is the perfect pick me up! It's full of naturally energizing ingredients and super simple to throw together as part of your morning routine.

By:

Ingredients
  • 24 OZ filtered water
  • 2-3 TBS raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 - 1 TSP turmeric powder
  • 1/4 TSP cayenne powder
  • fresh mint leaves
Directions
  • Step 1 Juice the lemon and lime into a large jar or glass
  • Step 2 Mix in remaining ingredients
  • Step 3 Garnish with mint
  • Step 4 Sip & enjoy!
